The program, held at the Thai Nguyen College and the University of Economics and Business Administration, attracted the participation of more than 600 students.
During the event, police officers from the Criminal Police Division updated participants on the current situation of school violence, child abuse and juvenile law violations in recent times.
They noted that a majority of juveniles who commit crime, including theft, disturbance of public order, deliberate injury, human trafficking and drug abuse come from families with economic difficulties, poor parental supervision, absorb negative things from social media or are lured by bad guys.
After analyzing the crime situation, the officers talked about the psychology and explained about the root causes of their possible acts of law violation.
Finally, they proposed practical measures to avoid committing crime, including enhancing education of life skills and laws for young people, and building a safe, friendly and inclusive school environment.
The program provided students an extensive insight into the law and their rights on the one hand, and clarified the position and responsibility of educational institutions in collaborating with families, local authorities and police forces to equip their students with additional legal education and preventive measures so as to stop crimes involving children and juveniles.
