Results of an initial investigation revealed that a transnational online defrauding network had reached the two persons on social media, offering light work and high wages in a foreign country. However, they had been trafficked to Myanmar, where they were forced to engage in fraudulent activities, brutally tortured and threatened to death.
After six months of captivity, the victims were luckily rescued and repatriated to Vietnam by local authorities.

Two victims repatriated to Vietnam.
The case once again sounds the alarm about tricks of the so-called “light work, high pay” used by fraudsters on social networks.
The police usually warn that people should be vigilant about overseas well-paid job offers to avoid falling victim to transnational criminal networks.
