
Vietnam, China further deepen security cooperation
Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with Vice Minister of State Security of China Li Qian on August 17, in Hanoi.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that Vietnam–China relations are currently at their best stage of development, especially following the visit of General Secretary To Lam to China in August 2024 and the visit of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping to Vietnam in April 2025.

Overview of the meeting.
The Minister stressed that cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of State Security of China has served as one of the pillars in bilateral relations, highlighting that, in recent years, the two ministries have closely and effectively coordinated in various fields, including delegation exchanges at different levels, information sharing, counterterrorism cooperation as well as in ensuring security and safety for high-level visits and important political events.
In light of the rapidly evolving and complex regional and global security landscape with both traditional and non-traditional security challenges, Minister Luong Tam Quang proposed that the two sides continue to enhance high-level exchanges and promote strategic information sharing to consolidate political trust and orientate long-term cooperation.
The host also emphasized the need to strengthen practical collaboration in security fields, particularly by improving information exchange mechanisms, strengthening coordination in cybersecurity and international counterterrorism and ensuring absolute security and safety for high-level delegations and major events related to the two countries.

On behalf of the high-ranking delegation of the Chinese Ministry of State Security, Vice Minister Li Qian extended warm congratulations to Minister Luong Tam Quang and all officers of the People’s Public Security Forces of Vietnam on the 80th founding anniversary of the People’s Public Security Forces, while acclaiming the substantive outcomes of cooperation between the two ministries.
Vice Minister Li Qian expressed confidence that, under the sound leadership of the top leaders of the two Parties and States, the cooperation between the Ministry of State Security of China and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam will continue to flourish, contributing to safeguarding national security, maintaining political stability and fostering sustainable development of each country, as well as to peace, friendship and stability in the region.
