Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, and Member of the Politburo and Secretary of the HCMC Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen attended and delivered keynote speeches at the meeting.
The meeting also saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Public Security Major General Dang Hong Duc and Member of the Party Central Committee and Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee Phan Van Mai.

Director of the HCMC Police Department Lieutenant General Le Hong Nam chaired the meeting.
In 2024, the HCMC Police Department took synchronous professional measures in combination with social preventive measures and mobilized the synergy of the entire political system and all people to effectively attack and suppress all types of crime.
The HCMC Police Department also effectively performed its function of State management in various areas, including security, State secrets protection, immigration management, residency management, traffic order and safety, and fire and explosion prevention, while actively advising the city’s government on the implementation of Project 06.
On behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated Ho Chi Minh City’s impressive achievements in 2024, to which the HCMC police force made an important contribution.
Regarding its work orientations for 2025, Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that the HCMC Police Department should strongly renovate its mindset and methods of leading the HCMC police force in performing the task of ensuring security and order with the first and foremost priority given to national interests as well as legitimate benefits of organizations and individuals.

According to Minister Luong Tam Quang, the local police force should take approaches to firmly protect national security early and from afar, and know how to take the opportunity and turn challenges into opportunities for the city’s development.
The Minister underlined that the work of ensuring security and order should aim at strongly supporting and creating the most favorable conditions for socio-economic development, and contribute to expanding space for development and promoting investment, production and business activities.
Regarding its specific tasks, the Minister requested that the HCMC Police Department should focus intensely on protecting the Party congress at all local levels in the buildup to the 14th National Party Congress and the celebration of the 50th Liberation Day of the South, with the aim of ensuring absolute security and safety, denying any unexpected situation and avoiding mistakes, even the smallest one, in performing the task.

The HCMC Police Department was also requested to carefully review all complicated order and security issues as well as its work of crime prevention and control with the aim of making HCMC a safe destination for local people and international visitors.
Finally, Minister Luong Tam Quang urged the HCMC Police Department to attach greater importance to building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern HCMC police force to meet the task requirements in the new situation.
