Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister praised the cities’ authorities and people for their contributions to the initial success in the COVID-19 fight, especially their successful implementation of Directive 15 on social distancing amid the COVID-19 situation.

According to PM Phuc, the next 15 days are seen as a "golden time" for the country to win the fight against COVID-19.
The PM emphasized that all people must make health declarations to promptly detect and quarantine infected cases and those related to them.
“Particularly, we should take drastic and comprehensive measures to stamp out the outbreaks of the disease in Hanoi-based Bach Mai General Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City-based Buddha Bar. We should quickly find out and monitor 40,000 people who have recently been to the hospital,” stated the cabinet leader.
Regarding the COVID-19 situation in Vietnam, PM Phuc said it is praiseworthy that no death has been reported so far nationwide, while the number of fully recovered cases discharged from hospital is on the rise.

However, he requested the cities’ authorities to strictly follow the disease developments and work out response plans and even impose curfew or martial law, in case of possible emergency scenarios.
The PM urged some provincial-level hospitals ready to treat COVID-19 patients on request as well as suggested the authorities of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to prepare enough food and necessities if the two cities are isolated due to a rapid increase in COVID-19 patients in the next two weeks.
He also ordered to cancel flights from other countries to Vietnam and minimize flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to other provinces for the next two weeks, while strictly controlling and checking up health conditions of passengers on trains and cars.
The PM agreed with the proposal of the Ministry of Finance to suspend lottery service for 15 days.
Local authorities should widely disseminate the contents of the Prime Minister's Directive 15 among the people, encouraging them to support the authorities at all levels and the Government in fighting the disease.

Speaking at the meeting, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security asked the police of the major cities to report the results of checking people coming to the cities within less than 14 days to the local Steering Committees for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.
The Deputy Minister suggested that, the local authorities should monitor all people coming from other places and ask them to strictly follow medical regulations as well as report the local medical staff on their health information.
The Deputy Minister also asked the leadership of the local police departments to deploy forces and take more drastic measures to ensuring community-based quarantine cases.
