Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Head of the Steering Committee for the Project 05 on Vietnamese Public Security Forces’ Participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations, chaired the ceremony.
At the ceremony, a representative from the Standing Office for UN Peacekeeping Operations under the Ministry of Public Security delivered a report on the implementation of the Project on Vietnamese Public Security Forces’ Participation in UN Peacekeeping Operations and the preparation for the deployment of police officers to the UN peacekeeping missions in 2024, revealing that the Ministry of Public Security has sent two working groups with six police officers to the UN peacekeeping missions in South Sudan over the past time, while closely coordinating with relevant UN agencies to make preparations for the next two working groups to take part in the UN peacekeeping missions in the coming time.

Authorised by the State President, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang handed over the decisions to the two to-be-deployed police officers, namely Major Vu Tran Thang and Captain Nguyen Lan Anh.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated and commended the effort of the MPS Standing Office for UN Peacekeeping Operations as well as relevant agencies in the implementation of Project 05, while congratulating the two public security officers on their upcoming deployment to UNISFA.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang asked the two police officers to join UNISFA to strictly abide by the regulations of the UN peacekeeping mission and the laws of the host country as well as the rules of the Ministry of Public Security regulating officers when performing duties overseas.
The deputy minister also requested the two police officers to closely coordinate with Vietnamese military officers at UNISFA, strengthen friendship with international colleagues, and resolve to successfully fulfil all tasks assigned by the UN as well as the Party, State and the Ministry of Public Security.
