At first, the local police arrested Nguyen Minh Thien (born in 1994) and Nguyen Thi Chau Doan (born in 2000), both residing in Bac Binh District, Binh Thuan Province. The police caught the two youngsters illegally trading and using drugs, and seized 10 bags of meth, some drug accessories and a lot of homemade weapons. Nguyen Thanh Nam, the leader of the local drug gang, and two other subjects fled from the scene.
At 5 pm, the same day, the Bac Binh district police eventually arrested Nguyen Thanh Nam while he was hiding in Binh An commune, Bac Binh district.
At the police station, Nam initially admitted the charge. Currently, the case is under further investigation.
