The conference has drawn the participation of 70 delegates, including departmental-level leaders and cybersecurity experts from cybercrime units of 24 countries in the Asia and South Pacific region, as well as representatives from international organizations and INTERPOL partners in cybercrime prevention such as UNODC, the Global Forum on Cyber Expertise (GFCE), Kaspersky, Trend Micro, Uppsala, Group-IB.

Especially, representatives from the donor for the Asia-Pacific Cybercrime Project (United Kingdom) and the INTERPOL General Secretariat are also present at the meeting.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security delegation to the conference includes high-ranking officers from the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency, the Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention, the Criminal Police Department, the Criminal Science Institute, the Foreign Relations Department, and the Hanoi Public Security.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long stated that the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security has recently made a special effort to enhance cybersecurity capabilities, build early warning systems, improve incident-response capabilities, and promote cooperation with countries and international organizations.

Vietnam is honored to host the upcoming signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention) in October 2025, which demonstrates Vietnam's strong responsibility and commitment in the global fight against cybercrime.
As a co-chair, Mr. Edmund Goh, Head of INTERPOL's Asia-Pacific Cybercrime Project, shared insights into the rapid evolution of cybercrime threats.

According to him, INTERPOL and law enforcement agencies in the region have implemented various solutions to combat this type of crime. A notable example is the successful Operation SECURE, an INTERPOL-coordinated operation to dismantle information-stealing malware in the Asia and South Pacific region.
The conference will take place over four working days, focusing on four main topics:
• Enhancing cybercrime information exchange to improve response effectiveness.
• Strengthening international cooperation in cybercrime prevention.
• Building regional capacity for cybercrime prevention.
• Promoting a safe and healthy cyberspace.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security delegation is expected to present a report on the implementation of Operation SECURE in Vietnam and share its preparation for the upcoming signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime (Hanoi Convention).
The host pledged to create best conditions for delegations from other countries to go to Vietnam to attend the Convention's signing ceremony in October 2025.
