Minister To Lam receives Australian Ambassador

MPS - Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on September 18 received Ambassador of Australia to Vietnam Craig Chittick.


At the meeting, Minister To Lam spoke highly of the rising position and role of Australia in the region as well as the fine developments in the bilateral relations between the two countries since both sides established the Vietnam – Australia Strategic Partnership on the occasion of Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s visit to Australia in March, 2018.

In these circumstances, the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam and law enforcement agencies of Australia continued to be expanded and became an important pillar in the bilateral relations. In terms of cooperation in police activities and crime control, the MPS of Vietnam appreciated the efficiency of the exchange of information about criminals and sharing professional experience as well as coordination in detecting and investigating major criminal cases. Meanwhile, the operation of the Vietnam – Australia Joint Trans-national Crime Center and the Asia Regional Law Enforcement Management Program (ARLEMP) appeared to be effective. These fine outcomes have contributed to maintaining the peaceful life for the people, ensuring social order and safety, and national security of each country, and backing peace, stability in the region and the world.

Ambassador Chittick expressed his delight at the strong developments in the all-sided bilateral relations between the two countries in recent years, and hoped that the relations between the two countries and cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and relevant agencies of Australia will gain more achievements. He also promised to try his best to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.
