MPS hosts sports exchanges among law enforcement forces of regional countries

MPS - Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To had a warm meeting with representatives of delegations participating in the 2025 Open ASEAN Police and Law Enforcement Soccer Tournament, on July 6 in Hanoi.


The tournament, hosted by the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) of Vietnam, is part of the MPS program to commemorate the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnamese People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the All-People's Security Protection Day (August 19, 2005 – August 19, 2025).

The tourney is participated in by 8 teams from 7 countries, including 5 teams from the ASEAN region, a team from Australia and 2 teams from the host country of Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To, on behalf of the Ministry of Public Security's leadership, warmly welcomed the delegations from friendly nations and extended his sincere thanks to the team leaders, coaches and athletes for their active participation in the tournament.

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the 2025 Open ASEAN Police and Law Enforcement Soccer Tournament is a meaningful regional police exchange activity, contributing to fostering the friendship, solidarity, and mutual support among the law enforcement forces of regional countries.

Through the tournament, the police forces from the regional countries will have chance to display their bravery, perfect discipline, and resilience but also humanity, and friendliness to people of their own countries and the international community.

• In the afternoon of the same day, the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Open ASEAN Police and Law Enforcement Soccer Tournament held a press conference to announce the results of the draw. Accordingly, the teams have been divided into two groups, playing a round-robin format:

Group A: Vietnam People's Public Security I, Laos Public Security, Thailand Police, Cambodia Police.

Group B: Vietnam People's Public Security II, Australia Police, Singapore Police, East Timor Police.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The two winners of the semifinals will compete in the final for the championship title.

The matches will be held at Hang Day Stadium (Hanoi) and PVF Youth Football Training Center (Hung Yen).
