New traffic safety program launched

MPS - A slogan contest for the “Traffic Safety in Vietnam with Doraemon” 2018-2019 program and Kizuna Ekiden running tournament were launched in Hanoi on September 6 by the Ministry of Public Security’s Traffic Police Department, in collaboration with the ministry’s Department of Foreign Relations and Japan’s Mainichi Shimbum newspaper.

The slogan contest for the “Traffic Safety in Vietnam with Doraemon” 2018-2019 was launched to raise public self-discipline in wearing helmets while riding motorbikes and electric bikes.

In addition to the cultural exchanges, the Kizuna Ekiden running event to be co-organized by the Traffic Police Department, Foreign Relations Department under the Ministry of Public Security and the Japan’s Mainichi Shimbum will be one of the activities to mark 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - 2018).

The organizers of the slogan contest will receive entries from June 9, 2018 to the end of November 5, 2018, and the results will be announced in January, 2019. More information can be found at http://www.antoangiaothong.com.vn or http://www.csgt.vn.

The running event will take place in November 18, 2018. The start and finish of the run will be Ly Thai To Square, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi. Participants, who will run 14 km, will include officers from the MPS, officers from the National Police Agency of Japan, Vietnamese and Japanese citizens.
