During the visit, Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tuan extended best regards to the leaders, officers and soldiers of the Salavan Provincial Police Department and their families, wishing them a peaceful, happy and successful New Year as well as close-knit ties between Vietnam and Laos in general and between the two provinces' police forces in particular.
Deputy Director of the Salavan Provincial Police Department Colonel Pheng Si Say Nha Phet respectfully thanked the good sentiment and effective support of the police of Thua Thien Hue province (Vietnam) for the police force of Salavan province.

Also, the two provincial police forces’ leaders reviewed the results of the bilateral cooperation in implementing the signed deals, shared experiences in ensuring security and order, Party building, force building, and exchanged information and situations related to security and order along the shared borderline.
The two sides pledged that the police forces of the two provinces will further tighten the traditional friendship and special solidarity while boosting bilateral cooperation in fighting crime and ensuring order and security along the borderline in the time to come.

Later, the Vietnamese police delegation paid a courtesy visit to Secretary of the Party Committee and Governor of Salavan province Daovong Phonkeo.
During the trip, the Vietnamese police delegation also visited police departments of Champasack, Sekong, Louangphabang and Savannakhet provinces as well as the Representative Office of the Ministry of Public Security in Laos, the Consulates of Vietnam in the provinces of Champasack, Savannakhet, Louangphabang, and paid a courtesy visit to the leadership of Champasack, Sekong, Savannakhet provinces.
