Vietnam and India promote cooperation in security

MPS - General To Lam, Minister of Public Security had an online meeting with Mr. Ajit Kumar Doval, National Security Advisor of India on July 12.

Speaking at the webinar, Minister To Lam affirmed that Vietnam highly values ​​the two countries’ political trust, the development of the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership and mutual support at international forums. Especially, the bilateral defense - security cooperation has been increasingly strengthened, serving as a pillar in the bilateral relationship in recent years.

Vietnam thanks India for supporting Vietnam's initiatives when it assumed the Presidency of the United Nations Security Council (April 2021). Vietnam always attaches importance to the long-standing traditional friendship between the two countries and is ready to cooperate with India in all fields. 

According to the Vietnamese official, the online meeting demonstrated the two sides’ determination to maintain and boost the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Security Council of India.

Speaking at the webinar, Mr. Ajit Kumar Doval highly appreciated the positive results of the cooperation between India and Vietnam as well as between the National Security Council of India and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security over the past time. 

He affirmed that the National Security Council of India is willing to strengthen and expand cooperation with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in all fields, for the benefits of the two peoples, as well as for peace and stability in the region and in the world.

During the meeting, Minister To Lam and Mr. Ajit Kumar Doval discussed issues of mutual concern and agreed on a number of cooperation contents for the coming time, which aim to bolster cooperation between the two countries in general, between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the National Security Council and relevant agencies of India in particular.
