Vietnam, Brazil boost cooperation in transnational crime prevention
MPS - Accompanying Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to attend the BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 5-7, 2025, a delegation from the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security had working sessions with leaders of Brazil's Security Agency and the Federal Police Command with the aim of promoting cooperation in ensuring security and order, combating organized and transnational crime, and sharing experiences in safeguarding major international events.
During the working sessions, the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security delegation highly praised the efforts of the Brazilian Federal Police and other security and law enforcement agencies in ensuring absolute safety for the 2025 BRICS Summit, and expressed its desire to expand cooperation with the host in preventing transnational crime, international terrorism as well as enhancing cybersecurity.
On this occasion, the guest extended an invitation to the Brazilian Federal Police to attend the signing ceremony of the United Nations Convention on Cybercrime, to be held in Vietnam in October 2025.

Chief of the Brazilian Federal Police Bruno Tavares Simoes shared extensive practical experience in ensuring security for the BRICS Summit. He also expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security for its close coordination and direct support during the summit.
At the conclusion of the working sessions, both sides agreed to increase the exchange of delegations at all levels, especially high-level ones. They also committed to promoting information sharing on transnational crime, cybercrime, drug trafficking and money laundering.
Additionally, the two sides vowed to bolster cooperation in personnel training, language training, and specialized skills development, contributing to further deepening the Vietnam – Brazil Strategic Partnership.
