Homeland Security Department rolls out 2025 work plan

MPS - Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Pham The Tung attended and delivered a keynote speech at a meeting held by the Department of Homeland Security to review its work results in 2024 and roll out its 2025 work plan, on January 13th, in Hanoi.

In 2024, thanks to the sound leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) leaders, the Department of Homeland Security with its sense of responsibility and close coordination with other under-ministerial departments and police departments of provinces and centrally-run cities has successfully fulfilled all of its assigned tasks of ensuring home security.

The Department of Homeland Security took synchronous professional measures to thoroughly grasp the security situation, promptly and resolutely combat all sabotage plots and acts by hostile forces, and maintain security in strategic areas, making positive changes in the mission of ensuring national security.

Addressing the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and MPS leaders, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung hailed the achievements of the Department of Homeland Security and the entire Homeland Security Force over the past year.

Pointing out challenges and tasks for the Homeland Security Force in the upcoming period and in 2025, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung underlined that the Department of Homeland Security and the Homeland Security Force have large responsibilities in 2025.

The Deputy Minister requested that the department should renovate its working methods, clarifying the responsibility and the task of each officer, and setting the deadline for each assignment.

Deputy Minister Pham The Tung stressed that the Homeland Security Force should firmly safeguard national security in all situations, avoiding any unexpected strategic surprise, as well as denying any major  public order and security issue or terrorist and sabotage activity by hostile forces.

Finally, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung requested the department to renovate the method of and enhance the effectiveness of its strategic advisory work, closely coordinate with other public security units and agencies to grasp the home security situation and take preventive measures to safeguard homeland security early and from afar, while attaching more importance to building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Homeland Security Force to meet the task requirements in the new situation.
