MPS, Vietnamese Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers sign coordination regulation

MPS - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and the Vietnamese Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers co-hosted a ceremony to sign a coordination regulation on ensuring security and order, on July 11 in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long and Chairman of the Vietnamese Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, former Member of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Minister of Public Security, co-chaired the ceremony.

The event also saw the presence of Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc and other retired high-ranking public security officers.

The coordination regulation on ensuring security and order between the MPS and the Vietnamese Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers holds great significance in political, social and professional terms as it helps promote the tradition and spirit of sacrificing for the Fatherland and serving the people across generations of the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong expressed sincere thanks to the Public Security Central Party Committee, the MPS leadership and police units at all levels for their support for the Vietnamese Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers. He stressed that the signing of the coordination regulation demonstrates the MPS leadership’s trust in and regard for retired public security officers.

He noted that the Association’s Executive Committee would fully convey the content and spirit of the regulation to all of its affiliates at the provincial and communal levels and would supplement it to its charter in order to enhance the role and strength of the Vietnamese Association of Former People’s Public Security Officers.

In his remarks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long emphasized that members of the Association serve as an “extended arm” supporting the Public Security Forces in ensuring security and order, saying that the coordination regulation enables retired public security officers at the local level to actively contribute to safeguarding security and promoting the “All People Protecting National Security” movement at the grassroots level.

To ensure effective implementation of the coordination regulation, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long affirmed that the Ministry would instruct subordinate units and provincial-level police departments to fully implement the agreed-upon provisions, conduct periodic evaluations of the bilateral coordination and make timely revisions to enhance the regulation’s effectiveness and efficiency.

He expressed confidence that the coordination regulation would yield positive results in the time ahead.
