Minister Luong Tam Quang attends 15th Party Congress of Office of Criminal Investigation Authority

MPS - The Party Committee of the Office of the Criminal Investigation Authority under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) solemnly held its 15th Party Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure on June 20 in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the congress.

The congress was also attended by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Long, Member of the Standing Board of the Public Security Central Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security and Head of the MPS Criminal Investigation Authority.

Over the past five years, the Party Committee of the Office of the MPS Criminal Investigation Authority has closely followed the directives of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry while leading the entire Criminal Police Force to implement the Resolution of its 2020–2025 Party Congress.

According to reports at the meeting, the Party Committee has successfully fulfilled its political responsibilities and achieved a number of significant accomplishments.

It has also played a leading and exemplary role in Party building, strengthening the Public Security Forces and carrying out its political duties.

After listening to reports, delegates discussed and gave comments on the draft political report and the self-review report of the Party Committee in the 2020-2025 term.

Addressing the congress, Minister Luong Tam Quang underlined that the Party Committee of the Office of the MPS Criminal Investigation Authority should continue to take the lead in implementing the Party’s strategic guidelines, particularly the four pillar resolutions of the Politburo regarding making breakthroughs in science, innovation and national digital transformation, renewing the work of law-making and law enforcement, accelerating international integration, and promoting private sector development.

In the current revolutionary phase, the Minister emphasized that the criminal investigation efforts should focus on preventive approaches, and that criminal police forces should proactively identify and propose to fix legal loopholes and shortcomings in State management of commerce and the economy, thereby minimizing the causes of and conditions for criminal acts.

Furthermore, the Minister called for substantial renovation in international cooperation on crime prevention and control, noting that the criminal police force should actively engage in multilateral cooperation mechanisms and strive to play a leading role in the cooperation areas according to the country’s capabilities and national interests.

At the congress, delegates elected a new 12-member Executive Committee of the Party Committee of the Office of the MPS Criminal Investigation Authority for the 2025–2030 term and a delegation to attend the 8th Congress of the Public Security Central Party Committee for the 2025–2030 tenure.
