At the meeting, delegates reviewed results of religious security protection in recent times, identified existing challenges and difficulties, and proposed approaches for the Public Security Forces to effectively implement the Party’s guidelines on religious affairs in the time ahead.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung acknowledged and commended public security units and agencies nationwide for their efforts and achievements in implementing the Party’s guidelines on religious affairs over recent years.

He noted that the Public Security Forces had proactively advised local Party committees and authorities on approaches to ensure the freedom of belief and legal religious practices in their localities, as well as to promote socio-economic development and improve living standards of religious communities.
The Deputy Minister also stressed that the forces had also effectively neutralized plots and acts of sabotage by hostile forces that had exploited religious issues to undermine the great national unity bloc and national security, contributing to maintaining a stable and secure environment for socio-economic growth, and reinforcing national and religious solidarity.
Regarding key tasks of the Public Security Forces in the coming time, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung requested that all public security units and agencies nationwide continue to thoroughly grasp and effectively implement the Party’s guidelines on religious affairs so that people’s religious freedom is fully honored and protected.

He stressed that the Public Security Forces should also ensure that activities and practices of religious sects comply with the laws and all religions are equal to the laws.
The Public Security Forces need to encourage religious sects to promote their positive moral and cultural values so as to contribute to national development and defense in the new era.
The Deputy Minister also urged public security units to proactively mobilize religious people to build on national solidarity and join the “All People Protecting National Security” movement, the fight against crime and the building of a disciplined orderly and safe society, following the principle of Vietnamese religions “A good life means a good religion”.
Finally, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung underscored the importance of prevention and combat of hostile and reactionary forces that abuse religious or belief practices to carry out superstitious activities or acts of damaging social order and security, violating the law or undermining the leadership of the Party and State.
