PM calls on Central Highlands provinces to maintain order and security, facilitating socio-economic development

MPS - Member of the Politburo and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting to review the work of ensuring security and order in support of socio-economic development in the Central Highlands provinces, on the morning of August 25th, in Lam Dong province.

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang co-chaired the meeting.

In his opening speech, Minister Luong Tam Quang underlined that, over the past time, the Public Security Forces have closely cooperated with ministries, branches and localities in preventing and combating sabotage activities carried out by hostile and reactionary forces as well as all types of crimes, creating a safe and secure environment for developing the socio-economy and improving the quality of people’s lives in the Central Highlands.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Pham The Tung briefed delegates on the work results of the Public Security Forces over the past time, pointed out remaining shortcomings and limitations as well as potential security threats, and underlined the objectives and key measures to ensure security and order in support of socio-economic developments in the Central Highlands provinces in the coming time.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and reached a consensus that the Party and State’s leaders always attach great importance to the Central Highlands region and have issued many resolutions, and launched projects on developing the socio-economy and ensuring security and order in the region, while underling that the effective implementation of those resolutions and projects is expected to make positive changes in regional socio-economy and  security and order.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that the Central Highlands is a particularly important strategic area in terms of economy, politics, security, national defense and ecological environment of the country.

The Prime Minister underlined that, to maintain security and order, the most fundamental measure is to bring about a prosperous life for the people, and that the consistent viewpoint of the Party reads that the core task of ensuring security and order is to continually improve people’s material and spiritual lives and let no one lagger behind.

He added, the power of people’s hearts can create order and security.

The Prime Minister requested that ministries, branches and the Central Highlands provinces should effectively implement key tasks with their strong determination, great effort and resolute actions, focusing on key points, completing each task before moving on to the next one.

Officials of all levels should discus ways to work through difficulties other than to surrender them, clearly define the responsibilities of each position holder, clarify objectives and deadlines while closely supervising and inspecting their subordinates’ work to ensure the quality.

The Prime Minister also asked ministries, branches and localities to address potential complicated issues early and from the grassroots, avoiding complicated security and order cases.

In the spirit of “The whole country for the Central Highlands, the Central Highlands overcoming difficulties and going up with the whole country”, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh believed that the Party committees, authorities and armed forces of the Central Highlands with a new motivation, will overcome challenges and promote socio-economic development, and ensure security and order in the coming time.
