Public Security Transmission Network Monitoring Center established

MPS - The Department of Telecommunications and Cipher under the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to unveil the Public Security Center for Transmission Network Monitoring, on the afternoon of October 15th, 2024.

As part of the plan to realize Project 06 and the digital transformation program towards the building of a digital government model in the Public Security Forces, the Ministry of Public Security has attached special importance to developing infrastructure for a safe and secure high-bandwidth multi-service transmission network, and investing in network management systems, fiber optic cable monitoring systems and network station monitoring systems to ensure cyber security and safety for the transmission network.

To realize the plan, the Minister of Public Security assigned the Department of Telecommunications and Cipher to establish the Public Security Center for Transmission Network Monitoring.

On July 17th, 2024, the Minister of Public Security issued Decision No. 5625 stipulating the functions, tasks, authorities and organizational structure of the Public Security Center for Transmission Network Monitoring under the Department of Telecommunications and Cipher.

Accordingly, the center is  responsible for advising the Director of the Department of Telecommunications and Cipher on effective methods of monitoring transmission networks in the Public Security Forces, analyzing causes of problems of public security transmission networks and guiding police units and agencies to address and fix the problems as well as managing and operating the technical infrastructure of the monitoring system and the centralized administration system of transmission networks in the Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, Major General Le Khac Thuyet requested that the center’ leaders should early complete the organizational structure of the center, assign specific tasks to its police officers and enlistees, promulgate regulations and rules on all working fields of the center as well as establish mass organizations within the center, so as to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks.

The Director of the Department of Telecommunications and Cipher underlined that all the police officers and enlistees of the center, especially the center’s Party Committee and leaders, should be aware of the great significance of the center’s establishment, fully grasp the functions of the center, its short-term and long-term tasks, always resolve to overcome all difficulties, successfully fulfill its political tasks and build a strong and comprehensive unit.
