Quang Nam Provincial Police Department opens counter-narcotics training course for Lao police

MPS - The Quang Nam Provincial Police Department in coordination with the Se Kong Provincial Police Department of Laos organized an opening ceremony of a training course on skills to investigate drug trafficking cases for police officers of the Se Kong Provincial Police Department, on October 14th, in Quang Nam.

The ceremony saw the presence of Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Vo Thi Trinh and Deputy Director of the Se Kong Provincial Police Department Colonel Sanmala Khunphixit.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director of the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Vo Thi Trinh underlined that the drug trafficking situation in Quang Nam and Se Kong provinces has become more complicated over the past time, requiring the counter-narcotics police forces of the two provinces to make more effort and improve their capabilities of preventing and combating drug crimes.

The training course aims to equip the Lao province’s counter-narcotics police force with both theory and practical skills to investigate and handle drug-trafficking cases.

It also creates a chance for the two provincial police departments to exchange information and hands-on experiences in countering narcotics in each province, contributing to effectively preventing and combating this type of crime in the coming time.

For his part, Deputy Director of the Se Kong Provincial Police Department Colonel Sanmala Khunphixit sincerely thanked the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department for organizing the training course, and expressed his delight at the positive results of the two provincial police departments’ coordination in combating this type of crime over the past time.

The Lao head delegate also thanked the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department for supporting the Se Kong Provincial Police Department in all working fields, especially in training and building capacity of Lao police officers, funding for key infrastructure projects as well as providing the Lao police department with technical equipment and facilities in support of its professional work.

The Se Kong Provincial Police Department’s Deputy Director requested the participants to carefully study lectures so that they can apply their acquired knowledge and skills into their practical work after the training course.

During the training course, lecturers from the People’s Police University and high-profile police officers from the Quang Nam Provincial Police Department are expected to lecture a number of specialized topics on investigation of drug-related cases.
