MPS celebrates 79th founding anniversary of People’s Security Force

MPS - On the occasion of the 79th founding anniversary of the People’s Security Force (July 12, 1946 – 2025), the Public Security Central Party Committee hosted a meeting with former leaders of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS), holders of the title “Hero of the Armed Forces”, veteran security officers and generations of security generals and high-ranking officers on July 9 in Hanoi.

Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang chaired the meeting.

The event saw the presence of various senior officials, including Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee for National Defense, Security and Foreign Affairs Le Tan Toi; Deputy Chief of the Office of the Party Central Committee Pham Gia Tuc; and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang.

At the meeting, delegates recalled the heroic and proud traditions of the People’s Public Security Forces in general and the People’s Security Force in particular.

Delegates also shared heartfelt reflections and valuable lessons drawn from their past experiences in safeguarding national security and strengthening the Public Security Forces.

In his address, Minister Luong Tam Quang extended his sincere regards and best wishes to incumbent and former MPS leaders, generals, officers with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces,” and veteran senior security officers.

Underscoring the increased and demanding responsibilities of the Public Security Forces in the current context, Minister Luong Tam Quang emphasized that the forces should not only meet immediate operational demands, but also pursue long-term strategic objectives.

He affirmed that accomplishing the new missions requires not only the dedication and concerted efforts of all active officers and enlistees but also continued support from former leaders and veterans of the People’s Security Force.

Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his hope that retired security generals and officers would continue to share their knowledge and experience to help the Public Security Forces further promote their proud traditions, enhance operational capacity and fulfill their pivotal role in safeguarding national political and social stability, contributing to fostering a peaceful, secure and stable environment that supports national development and international integration.
