The Task-Force Police Regiment is responsible for dismissing riots and countering terrorism, assassinations, hostage and other crimes committed in the protected area, when being ordered by under the leadership of the Minister of Public Security and the Security Guard Command.
Following Resolution No. 286 issued by the Party Committee of the Security Guard Command, the Task-Force Police Regiment has developed as a revolutionary, regular, elite and modern unit over the past time.
Its current tasks require the establishment of two elite platoons so the regiment leaders have selected and trained their subordinates with political will, bravery, courage and capabilities of special techniques and operational tactics to form two elite platoons.
Speaking at the ceremony, Commander of the Security Guard Police Major General Tran Hai Quan requested that all officers and soldiers of the Task-Force Regiment should be aware of their tasks, vigilant against plots and acts by hostile and reactionary forces as well as ready to overcome any difficulties and challenges to successfully complete their assignments.
The commander also assigned tasks to the two newly-formed platoons, saying that all officers and soldiers of the platoons should focus on training of martial arts, special tactics and combat readiness so that they can successfully fulfill their assignments in all circumstances.
