General Secretary and State President To Lam visits Security Technology and Engineering Academy

The working session was attended by Politburo Member, Secretary of the CPV Central Committee and Head of the Central Organization Commission Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo Member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc, Member of the CPV Central Committee and Deputy Chief of the Office of the CPV Central Committee Dang Khanh Toan, Member of the CPV Central Committee and Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hong Thai, as well as leaders of central commissions, ministries and sectors.

Delegates from the MPS included Politburo Member, Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organisation and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Member of the CPV Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Public Security CPV Organisation and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, and Member of the CPV Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Dang Hong Duc.

Speaking at the event on behalf of the Party and State leadership, General Secretary and State President To Lam highly recognized and commended the Security Technology and Engineering Academy and generations of its officers, lecturers, staff and cadets for their outstanding achievements throughout the academy’s development history.

In response to the new requirements of national construction and defense, General Secretary and State President To Lam requested that the academy clearly define its vision, position and mission in the new era. He stressed that the institution’s transformation into an academy should involve more than a change in name and organizational model; what is more, it should mark a fundamental qualitative transformation in line with global trends and modern higher education models.

The General Secretary and State President emphasized that the academy should become a strategic pillar in training high-quality human resources for the Public Security Forces and the country as a whole, while continuously mastering and leading security technologies, and pioneering research, innovation, application and transfer of scientific and technological products to safeguard security and order and support sustainable national development.

He added that the academy should play an exemplary and pioneering role in implementing Resolution No. 71 on breakthroughs in education and training development, Resolution No. 57 on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation, and Resolution No. 22 on the National Security Strategy.

General Secretary and State President To Lam further urged the academy to focus on developing academic disciplines, training programs and research orientations centered on national strategic technologies, aligned with the imperatives of safeguarding national security, advancing digital transformation, and expanding the security industry.
