State-level rehearsal for grand ceremony of 80th anniversary of August Revolution and National Day held in Hanoi

The State-level preliminary rehearsal for the grand ceremony of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam took place on the evening of August 27 at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended and directed the rehearsal.

The event also saw the presence of several high-ranking officials, including Member of the Politburo and Head of the Central Commission for Communication, Education and Mass Mobilization Nguyen Trong Nghia; Member of the Politburo and Minister of National Defence General Phan Van Giang; Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang; Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh.

Prior to the rehearsal, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and other leaders of the Party and State and the Central Steering Committee for the Celebration of Major National Anniversaries and Historical Events in the 2023–2025 period presented gifts and encouraged the forces participating in the parade drill.

The rehearsal at Ba Dinh Square commenced at 8:00 p.m. and comprised two parts: the official ceremonial and state protocol activities, and a grand parade.

Nearly 16,000 participating officers and enlistees of the armed forces, form 43 parade columns (26 military columns and 17 public security ones).

The parade is also joined by 3 international military contingents, 18 standing formations and 14 motorized formations showcasing modern military and police vehicles and equipment.

Following the August 27 rehearsal, the final State-level full-dress rehearsal is scheduled for the morning of August 30, ahead of the official grand ceremony at 6:00 a.m. on September 2.
