In their daily duties, traffic officers and enlistees have braved dangers and hardships, working day and night to direct traffic, clearing congestion, and ensuring smooth and safe travel for the public. Many examples of bravery in protecting bridges, roads, railways and waterways, as well as in fighting crime and rescuing citizens, have been highly praised by the public.

In recent years, the traffic culture has seen marked improvements. The rate of traffic accidents has continuously decreased while the public awareness of complying with traffic laws has improved, and a disciplined, safe and healthy society has been fostered. The Traffic Police Force has also contributed significantly to the country’s successful hosting of major international events and conferences.

For its outstanding achievements, the Party and State rewarded the Traffic Police Force with many prestigious awards, including the Ho Chi Minh Order, the title of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" for 16 collectives and 11 individuals and hundreds of Military Exploit, Fatherland Protection, Labor and Feat Orders of various classes.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Luong Tam Quang commended the outstanding achievements attained by generations of traffic police officers over the past 80 years.

To fulfill its glorious responsibilities in the new revolutionary period, the Minister requested the force to focus on three key tasks.

First, the Traffic Police should strive to be a key pillar in realizing the Party's goal of building a healthy, disciplined, civilized, and safe Vietnam. The Traffic Police Department should play its role as the "commander of the force," leading the force to create new landmarks and miracles.

Second, the force should shift from "management by command" to "governance based on law and data," taking people's safety as the central motivation for all activities. Proactively prevent violations and propose solutions to minimize risks for commuters.
