Minister Luong Tam Quang noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1950, the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Poland have continuously developed across various fields, including politics, diplomacy, economy, trade and education, particularly following Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit to Poland in January 2025.
Affirming that the two countries still have great potential for cooperation, especially in law enforcement and crime control, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed his pleasure that the two sides would sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cybersecurity Cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland during the Polish official’s visit to Vietnam.
On this occasion, Minister Luong Tam Quang expressed hope that Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski would support delegation exchanges between the two agencies at all levels to share information and hands-on experience, as well as the establishment of direct communication channels between relevant agencies of the two countries to strengthen their coordination in combating transnational organized crime, international terrorism, drug-related offenses, high-tech crimes, human trafficking and illegal migration.
He also suggested enhancing training and capacity-building cooperation to improve the professional qualifications of law enforcement officers of the two countries, supporting each other’s position and initiatives at regional and international forums, and creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community to live and work legally in Poland.
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs Krzysztof Gawkowski highly appreciated the active role and large contributions of Vietnam in general and of the Ministry of Public Security in particular to the successful organization of the Signing Ceremony of the United Nations Convention against Cybercrime (the Hanoi Convention).
He stressed, the signing of the convention is a symbol of multilateral cooperation in the global fight against cybercrime.
Agreeing with Minister Luong Tam Quang on the need to promote political trust and effectively implement cooperation agreements, the Polish Deputy Prime Minister affirmed that the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs would closely coordinate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in carrying out the to-be-signed MoU on Cybersecurity Cooperation, thereby contributing to further deepening and enhancing the practical and effective partnership between the two countries and their relevant ministries.
