Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes rolls out 2025 work plan

MPS - Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Pham The Tung attended and delivered a keynote speech at a meeting held by the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes to review its work results in 2024, on January 7th, in Hanoi. In 2024, under the sound leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security’s (MPS) leaders, the department took synchronous measures to maintain a healthy and safe information environment in cyberspace, taking various professional measures to prevent false and malicious information from spreading and badly affecting the security and order situation.

The Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes also gave early warnings about cyberattacks and promptly handled cybersecurity incidents, especially those targeting critical information infrastructure of the Party, the State and localities with their strategic defense and security positions.
 

The department also deployed various professional approaches to prevent and combat cybercrime in a comprehensive manner, while paying due attention to the work of state management of cybersecurity, contributing to eliminating the causes and conditions for criminals to commit offences in cyberspace.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung hailed the victories of the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes in 2024.


Regarding its key tasks in 2025, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung stressed that the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes should play its leading role in cybercrime prevention and control, promptly advise the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ministry leaders on comprehensive and fundamental approaches to ensure cybersecurity and control cybercrime.
 

The Deputy Minister also requested the department to enhance the efficiency of its fight against criminals exploiting cyberspace to infringe on national security or commit high-tech crime.
At the same time, it took synchronous measures to prevent and deny cyberattacks, contributing to ensuring security and safety for critical national information infrastructure and important political events of the country and international events taking place in Vietnam in 2025.
 

Finally, the Deputy Minister requested the Department of Cybersecurity and Hi-tech Crimes to advise competent authorities on perfecting the legal framework on cybersecurity, to actively expand international cooperation on cybersecurity and high-tech crime prevention with the aim of diversifying and expanding partnerships, and to build a truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern cybersecurity force by the end of 2025.
