The criminal group was headed by Ngo Anh Khoa (born in 1987), Vo Vu Lam (born in 1984) and Nguyen Minh Thoi (born in 1982), all residing in Ben Tre.
The Investigation Police Agency has initiated a criminal case, prosecuted and issued arrest warrants for 12 suspects, including the three heads, for the crime of "Organizing gambling and participating in gambling" under Articles 322 and 321 of the Penal Code.

Currently, the Investigation Police Agency continues to work with more than 60 other involved persons in Ben Tre city, Giong Trom district, Chau Thanh district, Mo Cay Nam district, Ben Tre province and Ho Chi Minh City.
At the Investigation Police Agency, all the accused confessed to the acts of organizing gambling and participating in gambling on websites such as "Sbobet.com", "Ibet", "Viva88", "SV388" since the beginning of 2023.
Nearly 30 agents working for the criminal group were responsible for running those websites, on which hundreds of gamblers placed bets via their registered gambling accounts, with a total gambling amount of more than 1,800 billion VND.

This is a large-scale illegal online gambling network involving many localities with hundreds of participants. The criminal group used sophisticated methods and tricks, made full use of high-tech devices and equipment, such as applications, software and social media hosted by foreign companies, unregistered sim-cards as well as unauthenticated bank accounts to commit crimes and avoid the police force.
The Investigation Police Agency is expanding the investigation of the case to find all involved and clarify their acts, in line with the laws.
