During his talks with Minister Luong Tam Quang, MEIO Director General Dato Hadiman expressed his delight at the positive cooperation results between the two sides over the past time, wishing that the two sides would further promote bilateral cooperation in a practical and effective manner, contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Malaysia comprehensive strategic partnership.

The two head delegates reached consensus on enhancing delegation exchange at all levels, sharing information related to issues of mutual concern, particularly information about regional and international terrorism, transnational crime, high-tech crime and cyber security, while not allowing any organization or individual to utilize one country’s territory to carry out sabotage activities against the other country.

* At the talks between Minister Luong Tam Quang and Malaysian Minister of Home Affairs Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the two ministers agreed that bilateral cooperation between the two ministries had witnessed various positive achievements.
Accordingly, the two sides maintained delegation exchange to promote specific cooperation in security and order, and regularly exchanged criminal information via diplomatic channels as well as INTERPOL and ASEANAPOL.

The two sides also signed a governmental-level agreement on transnational crime prevention and control to complete the legal framework for bilateral cooperation, while paying due attention to promoting cooperation in other fields, such as training and capacity building as well as collaboration in multilateral mechanisms.
On the basis of the good cooperation results obtained, the two ministers underscored that the two sides should continue to closely cooperate in realizing agreements of the two countries’ top leaders, maintain delegation exchange to promote security and law enforcement cooperation, regularly exchange criminal information and closely coordinate in the fight against crimes via bilateral and multilateral channels, as well as support each other at multilateral forums on crime prevention and control which both countries participate in.

The two sides also agreed to create favorable conditions and ensure security and safety for citizens of one country living, studying and working in the other country and expand law enforcement cooperation in specific fields, especially in preventing and combating transnational crime and high-tech crime.
