The Cambodian police delegation’s visit was made after the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department had mobilized forces and means to assist the Cambodian police in fighting a large fire incident recently occurring in Tropeng Phlong commune, Ponhia Kret district of Tboung Khmum province.
At the meeting, Major General Sui Bun Hieng expressed his thanks to the leaders of the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department and police officers and enlistees of the Tan Bien district for their timely and effective support in putting out the fire and rescuing the victims.

Earlier, on the morning of November 3rd, a fire occurred on the 7th floor of a casino in Tropeng Phlong commune, Ponhia Kret district, Tboung Khmum province. The Cambodian fire and rescue police force immediately deployed 3 firetrucks and firefighters to the scene, but they were unable to put out the fire, so they had to ask for assistance from the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department.
Receiving the call from the Cambodian police, the Board of Directors of the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department directed the Tan Bien District Police Station to send 3 firetrucks and 15 firefighters to the scene to team up with the Cambodian peers to fight fire.
At the scene, 3 rooms on the 7th floor of a casino were on fire. The fire area was about 80 square meters, and the toxic smoke was spreading to the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th floors of the building.
The Vietnamese firefighters successfully approached the building and rescued 4 victims trapped on the 5th and 6th floors of the building. At the same time, other Vietnamese firefighters deployed a 2-hose A-shaped formation to put out fire on the wall. By 1:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was basically controlled.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Tay Ninh Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Tran Van Luan underlined that the close and effective coordination between the Vietnamese firefighters and the Cambodian ones demonstrated the close friendship and cooperation between the two police departments in fire and rescue as well as in crime prevention and control over the past time.
