The two deceased victims were Duong Van Nguyen (born in 1984) and Nguyen Thi Ha (born in 1994), residing in Quang Tien commune, Hoa Binh city. Their son, Duong Nguyen Tien Dat (born in 2008), luckily survived the landslide and was saved by rescue forces.

Chief of the Cuoi Ha Communal Police Post Lieutenant Colonel Bui Duc Hai revealed that, after the incident, the communal police post immediately mobilized forces and means to rush to the scene and carry out search and rescue operations.
Thanks to their effort, at 3:20 a.m. on the same day, rescuers found Duong Nguyen Tien Dat alive but in a state of extreme panic, from the pile of mud.

The bodies of the couple of Mr. Nguyen and Mrs. Ha were later found at 4:30 a.m.
Currently, Dat is undergoing treatment at the Kim Boi District Medical Center, and police forces have contacted the two deceased victims’ alive relatives to hand over their remains.
