On April 16, 2025, the Xuan Hoa Town Police Station received a report from Mr. Gerardus Maria Kostermans (born in 1993, Dutch national), stating that he had lost a wallet containing several personal documents.
Upon receiving the information, local police officers promptly carried out a search for the lost item along the route he had traveled, as well as posted a notice on the local police social media page to seek assistance from local residents.

Mr. Luc Van Quyet (residing in Hoa An District) saw the notice on the lost property so he contacted the police, informing them that he had found a wallet matching the description.
On the same evening, the Xuan Hoa Town Police Station, together with Mr. Quyet, returned the lost wallet to Mr. Kostermans.
Upon receiving his belongings, Mr. Kostermans expressed his sincere gratitude to the officers of the Xuan Hoa Town Police Station and Mr. Quyet for their timely and wholehearted assistance.
The assistance left a positive impression on the tourist and also contributed to promoting the image of Cao Bang as a safe, friendly and welcoming destination for international visitors.
It also showed the sense of responsibility of the local police force in ensuring security and public order.
