U.S. Consulate General thanks Da Nang City Police Department for effective collaboration

MPS - A delegation from the Office of International Operations under the U.S. Marshals Service, led by Chief of the Asia–Pacific Division Alfred Celes II, had a working session with the Da Nang City Police Department to review the outcomes of recent bilateral cooperation, on the afternoon of May 12 in Da Nang.


At the working session, Mr. Alfred Celes II presented a letter of thanks from the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to the Office of the Criminal Investigation Authority, the Criminal Police Department, the Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, as well as the Da Nang City Police Department.

In the letter, the U.S. Consulate General expressed sincere gratitude from the U.S. side to the Vietnamese police units for their close coordination and exceptional support in the arrest and transfer of a U.S. national subject to an international warrant.

Particularly, the U.S. Consulate General appreciated the participating Vietnamese police officers and highly recognized their professionalism and unwavering commitment to justice.

At the working session, Deputy Head of the Staff Division under the Da Nang City Police Department Colonel Nguyen Thanh Tu briefed the U.S. delegation on the current situation of the U.S. citizens who are residing, traveling, studying and investing in Da Nang.

He affirmed that cooperation between the Da Nang Police and U.S. law enforcement agencies, particularly through the INTERPOL mechanism, was good and effective, which had reflected especially in the recent arrest of dangerous fugitives hiding in the city.

The two sides’ recent collaborative efforts contributed to further strengthening the partnership between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the U.S. Marshals Service in general and between the Da Nang City Police Department and U.S. counterparts in particular.
