Comrades and families happily welcome back Vietnamese police peacekeepers
MPS - The first three Vietnamese police officers who had successfully completed their service at the UN Peacekeeping Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) returned home, on the afternoon of April 15, 2024.

They are Senior Colonel Le Quoc Huy, Colonel Vu Viet Hung and Colonel Luong Thi Tra Vinh.
At Noi Bai Airport, the Standing Office of the Ministry of Public Security for UN Peacekeeping Activities in coordination with the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Public Security and the police units where the three officers work with as well as their families held a solemn ceremony to welcome back the three police officers to Vietnam after 18 months working at UNMISS.

During the time serving as UN peacekeeping police officers at UNMISS, the three officers always completed their assignments so they were highly credited by UNMISS leaders and colleagues while promoting the good image of the Vietnamese police officer and beautifying the image of the country and its people among international friends.
They also demonstrated that the Vietnamese police officer has enough qualifications, skills and abilities to join UN peacekeeping activities work in an international environment and successfully fulfill tasks of the UN police force.

Earlier, Commander of the UNMISS Police Command Christine Fossen had awarded Certificates of Merit to the three Vietnamese police officers in recognition of their outstanding contributions to UNMISS at an event in South Sudan to say good-bye to the Vietnamese police officers.

Ms. Christen Fossen also said that she had personally been very impressed with cultural events held by the Vietnamese police officers and their spirit of solidarity with international friends.
