The event was chaired by Major General Le Minh Quy, Director of the IST. The workshop also saw the presence of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, representatives of various professional agencies under the Ministry of Public Security and local police units.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the research, manufacturing and management of technical equipment to serve the task performance of Public Security Forces should be enhanced in order to firmly protect national security, social order and safety, maintain socio-political stability, contributing to the country's international integration and sustainable development.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son affirmed that, in 2020, the IST should actively coordinate with professional agencies in forecasting the situation, developing plans on providing professional technical equipment and supporting tools to better serve the work of protecting security and safety of major national events and activities of the Party and State as well as to improve the effectiveness of crime prevention and control in the country in the future.
Relevant agencies and units were urged to make recruitment policies and incentives in order to attract young civilian scientists, leading experts to work at science and technology facilities of the Public Security Forces. They have also provide favorable conditions for officers working at the public security research sector, train and retrain to improve professional qualifications, foreign language skills, professional ethics and political stance for the public security scientific researchers while expanding international cooperation and transfer of advanced and modern technologies from other countries to manufacture new and smart products with high utility meeting regional and international quality standards.
