5th National Professional Theater Festival officially opens in Hanoi

MPS - The 5th National Professional Theater Festival, themed “The Image of the Public Security Officer”, officially opened on the evening of June 24 at the Ho Guom Opera House in Hanoi.

Attending the opening ceremony were Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy, and Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Do Xuan Tung.

In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To emphasized that the festival is a significant cultural and artistic event held in celebration of the 80th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces and the 20th anniversary of the “All People Protecting National Security” Festival.

To meet the set objectives and expectations for the festival, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To called on the jury panel to uphold their sense of responsibility, fairness and objectivity as well as closely follow the regulations while selecting outstanding works to be staged publically for armed forces and people during major national events and grand anniversaries of the Public Security Forces in 2025 and the years ahead.

The 5th National Professional Theater Festival, themed “The Image of the Public Security Officer”, is scheduled to take place in Hanoi from June 24 to July 7, drawing the participation of over 600 artists from 21 professional art units nationwide.

The festival features 25 artistic acts, including 4 Cheo plays, 4 operas, 2 Cai luong plays and 15 spoken drama plays.

While the Public Security Drama Theatre, the Army Drama Theatre, the Army Cheo Theatre and the Lam Son Art Theatre will each present two acts, each of the remainders has one act to stage.
