Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trung Kien, Head of the Security Unit, reported to the Deputy Minister that, during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the unit has made great efforts on the frontline against the disease and successfully fulfilled its core task of ensuring security at the airport.


Senior Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Le, Head of the Immigration Management Office under the Can Tho Municipal Police Department, said that the Security Unit had safely performed the entry procedures for 52 flights with 6,374 Vietnamese citizens returning home from pandemic-hit foreign countries, under the direction of the National Steering Committee on COVID-19 Prevention. Meanwhile, all police soldiers and officers working at high-risk places strictly observed the medical safety regulations and took preventive measures.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son appreciated the efforts and achievements made by the Can Tho Municipal Police Department as well as the Security Unit at Can Tho Airport during the complicated developments of the pandemic.

The Public Security Forces, considered one of the most important forces in the fight against COVID-19, has coordinated with the health sector and the military forces to attain the proud achievements in preventing and fighting the pandemic. The Can Tho Municipal Police Department and the Can Tho International Airport Security Unit have also joined great efforts with the whole forces in the fight against the disease.
