In his opening remarks, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung underscored that, in the face of tensions in the region and the world as well as potential security risks impacting negatively on the country’s national security and interests in the past 6 months, the Security Force took synchronous measures to safeguard national security, contributing to maintaining a secure and stable environment in support of socio-economic development and enhancing Vietnam’s international standing.

After watching a documentary summarizing national security protection efforts by the Security Force during the first six months of 2025, representatives from under-ministerial security departments and provincial-level police departments engaged in discussions to further clarify the situation, highlight achievements, identify existing limitations and challenges and propose specific approaches to effectively perform security protection tasks in the coming period.
In his concluding remarks, Deputy Minister Pham The Tung emphasized that the meeting aimed to fundamentally renovate security officers’ thinking and approaches to executing the task of protecting national security in the current pivotal phase of national transformation and development.
He stressed that the entire Security Force must reach a unanimous perception on its specially important role in protecting national security, the Party and the nation as well as in maintaining a peaceful environment in support of the national development efforts in the new revolutionary stage.

The Deputy Minister required security units at all levels to identify root causes of their existing shortcomings, and propose measures to surmount them.
He also emphasized the need to build an integrated and coherent national security protection network from the ministerial level to the communal one, and proactively prevent, early detect and effectively counter all sabotage plots and activities by hostile and reactionary forces, firmly safeguarding national security under all circumstances.
In addition, he stressed the importance of ensuring absolute security and safety for events marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, as well as the Party congresses at all levels in the buildup to the 14th National Party Congress.
Finally, the Deputy Minister urged the Security Force to accelerate digital transformation across all areas of work, while attaching great importance to Party building and force building, contributing to building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite and modern Security Force.
