Thanh Hoa Police take measures to prevent illegal demonstrations

June, 13 2018
MPS - The Provincial Police of Thanh Hoa on June 12 organized a conference to discuss measures to prevent illegal calls for violent demonstrations. Major General Trinh Xuyen, Director of the Provincial Police Department chaired the event.

In recent days, domestic dissidents and overseas reactionaries distorted some contents of the draft Law on Special Administrative and Economic Zone and draft Law on Cyber Security and provoked people to participate in demonstrations, causing social disturbances in some localities.

An overview of the event.

After being briefed on situations of demonstrations in the province, the Chief of the Thanh Hoa Police said, although Thanh Hoa had not seen any protests against the draft laws, unexpected incidents might still occur. He asked the local police units to thoroughly grasp the situation, detect and advise the local authorities to resolve all people’s complaints and petitions, avoiding collective protests, illegal gatherings and demonstrations or other over-reactions.

Additionally, the police force of Thanh Hoa was urged to take preventive measures and be ready for any illegal demonstrations. Local police should enhance armed patrols in key routes and areas, firmly safeguard buildings of the Party and administrative agencies and other important constructions while preparing forces and assets to prevent rallies negatively affecting local security and order. The provincial police force should stay alert and ready to take all steps to handle unexpected and complex security and order scenarios.
